My sole problem with Amazon’s Kindle

I love it. Really. I even would consider to buy it for the price – well, it costs less than an iPod here so , why not – but I did a brief test first.

I actually went to the site, watched the videos and all, the put it in my cart and…

*** We are sorry. This item can’t be shipped to your selected destination.

Just as a expected, no chance to order it. Well, I know 8 or 14 months, and you can buy it here, so it’s all okay, no?

Unfortunately, as it is with the iPod for example, by the time it gets here, the price doubles – yes, actuall I have to pay about 600 USD for an iPod Touch 16GB here. So Kindle will cost about 600USD too. If it ever ges here.

So, I would love it. I really would. but then, I am practically barred from buying it at the moment.

Remember, it’s not a standalone device, Amazon can only sell it to places where its “whispernet” works.

Oh, I know it, but knowing the reason does not really help me, does it?

As someone who wants to buy it, I don’t care if they don’t want to or can’t sell it here. It won’t ruin my life, just a fact noted

It’s one of those things. I wait patiently, either they will introduce whispernet here – I doubt it – or there will be another e-book device which will work with either wifi or gprs, or ‘futurenet’.
