Education, creativity and school

Sir Ken Robinson makes an entertaining and profoundly moving case for creating an education system that nurtures (rather than undermines) creativity.

And I think everyone should pay attention to the mistakes part – around after the sixth minute – and the “educated out of creativity” bit. We always write and say that making mistakes is human, we actively punish it all the time. Watch the video, and try to imagine what it would be if we did not chop off the wings of the kids. At least in the sense of not being terrified of making mistakes.
